The Risk Factors of Diabetic woman in pregnancy

Diabetes and pregnancy has their own complication, But combination of it is little bit more risk. In the present time the management system is well developed and even diabetic woman can deliver normally. Here I am sharing few risk factors and how to manage it.

Diabetic woman has multiple problems during pregnancy. Diabetes may pose risk to the life of child as well as mother. A study reported 25 percent of pregnant diabetic women fall victim to toxaemia of pregnancy, a dreadful condition, which may result in miscarriage. Diabetic women have more chance of giving birth to dead babies or babies with congenital defects. Diabetic women have a chance to develop very large babies in the womb. This causes great difficulty during delivery and both the mother and baby have to face risks of trauma during delivery.

This information is not to say that women with diabetes should avoid pregnancy. Diabetic woman opting for conception and pregnancy or getting diabetic during pregnancy are much safer today. Recent development in the management of such pregnancy have made normal child birth possible.
