Leaf juice of Aloe is a useful Ayurveda remedy. It is bitter, cooling, anthelmintic, carminative, diuretic, stomachic and emmenagogue.

 

How to use Aloe

Jaundice

Few drops of Aloe juice is instilled in the nostril to control jaundice.

Liver disorders and splenomegaly

Aloe juice along with turmeric powder is taken twice a day beneficial to overcome these conditions.

Difficult urination

In high fever conditions, urination becomes difficult. Drink diluted aloe juice from time to time to alleviate this situation.

Wounds

Boil aloe leaves and takes the fleshy part of the inside of the leaves to use as a poultice for wounds.

Burning sensation

A paste made from cumin seeds and aloe juice apply over the area. Even in burns, the above mixture may be used from time to time to hasten to heal and prevent scar formation.

Cosmetic

Aloe is also an excellent moisturizer. It is widely used in creams and shampoos to retain moisture in skin and hair. You can make your home-made moisturiser and cleanser in the following way.

Take half teaspoon of lemon juice and a half teaspoon of aloe juice. Dilute this with about four teaspoons of water. After filtering apply this mixture over the face and neck and wash off after 15 minutes.

Modern research reports

Aloe was found to inhibit significantly gastric acid secretion in experimental studies and was thereby seen to protect the gastric mucosa from Hcl-induced gastric tension.

The aqueous extract of aloe also exhibited antiparasitic activity against Trichomonas vaginalis, a vaginal fungus.

Aloe is found to be good against piles.

Aloe is also found to be soothing for arthritis and rheumatic pains.

It is also found to be of high value in treating blood dysentery.
