Ayurveda Health Benefits of Ajowan

Fruits of Ajowan has many health benefits. It is useful as thermionic, antispasmodic, stimulant, digestive, carminative and anthelmintic.

 

 

How to use Ajowan

Flatulence

To overcome flatulence take one teaspoon of ajowan seeds and roast it in a pan until the seeds turn red. Then pour two cups of water into the pan and boil until the water is reduced to half. After that take the decoction once a day for a safe and sure remedy for gaseous distension of the abdomen.

Common cold

To overcome cold or to remove the nasal block, crush one teaspoon of ajowan and tie in a cloth bundle for inhaling. The strong odour is beneficial to clear the stuffy nose.

Asthma

To relieve asthmatic attack, inhale the vapours of one teaspoon of the seeds put in boiling water.

Earache

Ajowan is an excellent remedy to relieve an earache. Take half teaspoon of ajowan is heated in half a glass of milk and the milk is filtered and used as ear drops.

Sprains

Mix a paste of ajowan, salt and turmeric in gingelly oil and apply on the sprained area along with some wheat flour.

Worms

Maka a powder of seeds. Mix two teaspoon of powder with black salt in equal amount and take in the night with water.

Gout

Make a powder of seeds and take two by three teaspoon with warm milk thrice a day.

Kidney pain

Make powder of seeds. Take two teaspoons in the morning and evening with warm milk
